Located on the picturesque Bluewaters Island you will find 88 Terrace – one of Dubai’s largest rooftops, spread over a whopping 35,000 square feet encompassing a bar, restaurant, and lounge. Complete with unrivaled views of the Ain Wheel and Dubai skyline. 

A stone’s throw from the JBR seafront, 88 Terrace features Mediterranean/Spanish-influenced, tapas-style cuisine, a fully licensed bar, a buzzy nightlife vibe, shisha, and an expansive al fresco space…

First opened in October 2022, this is the ideal spot for a lively date night, to celebrate a special occasion, big groups, and “going out out”. There are daily happy hours, DJs, and performers and there’s a private space on offer for prior bookings. 

Drinks-wise the fully licensed bar offers a variety of signature mocktails and cocktails, premium wines, spirits, beers, and whisky. The HUNTR tried and loved two signature cocktails – the Vida (70AED), a gin-based drink that’s foamy and features bright citrus flavors. And the Echoes of the Mediterranean (70AED), a Tequila-based creation that’s sweetly served in a bird-shaped glass. Meanwhile the Strudel (55AED) mocktail was zesty but a little too sweet for our palate. 

Food-wise the menu is inspired by Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine and features an array of dishes to suit all tastes – including vegans, and vegetarians. The dishes are all house-made and are crafted with the finest ingredients. The pizzas are carefully made with sourdough bread, the carpaccio is imported from Italy, the wagyu from Australia (grade 6-7), and the menu is divided between Starters, Tapas Española’s, Tapas Globales, A La Parilla, Del Horno, and Postres. Set menus are also available.

The HUNTR visited for a romantic Friday night dinner. From the Tapas Española’s section of the menu, we had the plump and light octopus salad, Ensalada de Pulpo (86AED) with chargrilled marinated pimiento rojo, roasted garlic citronette, Spanish baby octopus, Valencia orange, avocado mousse, mildly spiced paprika pearls, Spanish olive crumble, and crispy olive cracker. Plus the crunchy and delicious Wagyu Pancetta (99AED), featuring hand-rolled phyllo, wild mushroom, wagyu duxelles, truffle paste, paper-thin pancetta, and decadent Siberian sturgeon caviar.

Then, from the Tapas Globales section of the menu, we selected the flavourful Truffle Beef Wagyu Carpaccio (108AED) – made with melt-in-your-mouth, paper-thin wagyu beef, black truffle, black truffle aioli, and crispy paprika cracker. And Salmon Euphoria (108AED) with marinated spicy raw salmon, caviar imitation, wakame salad, sushi rice, crispy rice, and charcoal nori cracker.

For the main event, we shared the delectable Wagyu and Chorizo (148AED) – chorizo and wagyu rib eye roulade on a stick, with grilled spring onions, Rojo pimiento cream, and crispy chorizo. And the vegetarian-friendly Aubergine Pizza (89AED) with delicious crispy dough, eggplant carpaccio, grape tomatoes, capers, cream sauce, tomato sauce, chili oil, Manchego cheese, and pull-apart burrata cheese. Don’t miss it. Divine. 

For dessert, we had the Choco Pecan Island (89AED) a fun creation with floating lava islands, mascarpone cream rocks, and coffee chocolate liqueur. Plus the Suave (86AED) – brown butter chiffon, gold-dusted pineapple crispy rinds, virgin limoncello pineapple tartare, yuzu baked yoghurt, lemon jelly, and pistachio cardamom biscuit.
