For the first time ever, Abu Dhabi Loves Coffee – an initiative currently in its third consecutive year, curated by The HUNTR for the Department of Culture & Tourism’s Abu Dhabi Culinary platform – is joined by Abu Dhabi Loves Breakfast – a unique celebration of the most important meal of the day. 

With the aim to encourage the capital’s foodies to get out and about and explore the very best breakfast spots Abu Dhabi has to offer, The HUNTR has arranged for you to enjoy exclusive 2for1 breakfast experiences at 13 amazing homegrown places. 

The idea is to visit as many as possible and support your local cafes and restaurants, before voting for your favourites on the @abudhabilovesbreakfast Instagram channel when voting opens from November 30 until December 7.

Abu Dhabi Loves Coffee is running from November 18 until December 7 at 13 fantastic places and features buy1get1free exclusive breakfast menus. Discover the delicious details below…

APTITUDE CAFE

Aptitude is a tiny little bolthole of a gem. First opened at the iconic Louvre museum on Saadiyat Island in 2018, alongside its top-notch specialty coffee, Aptitude also offers a delicious menu featuring breakfast, all-day eats, and desserts.

AVA CAFE

Located at Al Bateen, Ava Cafe is also an Abu Dhabi Loves Coffee 2022 partner serving up top-notch specialty coffee. Food-wise, the kitchen is led by Chef Dhanpal Singh, who has over 10 years of culinary experience and has worked in many different countries with many different cuisines. Here all of the ingredients are carefully sourced and purchased from local UAE suppliers. Breakfast is available daily from 7 am until 3 pm.

EGGCELLENT

Love eggs? Then you will love Eggcellent, a concept dedicated to them in Al Bateen, and other delicious dishes for breakfast and brunch. Open daily from 7.30 am, breakfast is served until 10 pm at night and the folks at Eggcellent use organic eggs from local farms.

FA'E CAFE

Emirati nationals Chef Khaled and Alia Al Mazrouei officially opened the doors to Fa’e Cafe on the first day of 2020. Located at the impressive Abu Dhabi Youth Club, Fa’e Cafe is a celebration of its founders’ passion for good food in an inspiring setting.

Inspired by the spirit of the Ghaf Tree (the national tree of the UAE and the symbol of 2019’s Year of Tolerance) the menu features an array of dishes using locally sourced ingredients, which change regularly depending on what is in season.

Fa’e is also a partner for #AbuDhabiLovesCoffee 2022.

FOODSHED

Also in the running for #AbuDhabiLovesCoffee 2022, Foodshed is the brainchild of Sharjah-based Sheikha Maisa Al Qassimi, and it offers “wholesome food and local roots” in Khalifa Park. Open daily from 7 am until 9.30 pm for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the name ‘Foodshed’ is a nod to this homegrown gem’s ‘farm-to-table’ concept. All of the dishes on the menu are crafted from fresh, locally-sourced produce where possible and roughly 90% of everything on offer (including the tables) are from within the UAE.

MIRZAM CHOCOLATE MAKERS

Everybody’s favourite homegrown chocolate makers, not only is Mirzam a dab hand with specialty coffee (and a partner for #AbuDhabiLovesCoffee 2022), these guys also rock at breakfast. 

Offering delicious seasonal tartines and buttery, stuffed croissants from the Dubai-born, homegrown Birch Bakery, Mirzam love to work with local producers and shine a spotlight on UAE talents. Breakfast is available daily from opening (7 am) until 5 pm.

NATIVE CAFE

Specialty coffee concept (and fellow #AbuDhabiLovesCoffee 2022 partner), the kitchen at Native is led by Chef Leahne Bincal, who holds a degree of Diploma in International Culinary Arts and has worked in Sydney, Australia, the Philippines, as a ramen chef in Momofuku in New York, and as a Chef Instructor.

At Native the breakfast menu can be tailored for special diets such as vegans, and the bread is freshly made in-house, including Turkish, sourdough, and French toast. Breakfast is served Mon-Fri 7 am until 11 am and Sat-Sun 8 am until 2 pm.

Argentinian Head Chef Sergio Cabrera leads the No.57 Cafe kitchen team with over 19 years of culinary experience in international cuisine. Serving from 9 am until 12noon Mon-Thurs and 9 am until 1.30 pm Fri-Sun, the breakfast here is curated under the talented Head Chef, Anthony Palea, who has 14 years of experience. Using locally sourced produce along with the finest ingredients from Greece, the Zoe breakfast menu features numerous vegetarian and gluten-free options, and every thing is homemade and done from scratch – there are no bottled, canned, or pre-made dips, sauces, oils, or vinaigrettes.
