Alchemy Dubai first opened its doors in Jumeirah 2 in the spring of 2018. The homegrown, Emirati concept is part of AJ Capital & Investments, a private equity firm. Centred around a love for good, speciality coffee, Alchemy uses multiple roasters in Scandinavia, as well as their favourite local roasters – Jabena and Cypher.
Housed within a converted villa, there’s a pretty outdoor garden area complete with table arrangements and even a swimming pool, and inside, it’s a modernist and minimal dream. Think white marble, muted grey and natural wood, with lots of lovely natural light and a view of the Burj Khalifa from the front.
The food offering is limited (coffee is the key focus), but there are some baked goods available in partnership with Alchemy’s favourite local bakery – Butterscotch Bakery in Abu Dhabi.
On weekday mornings the vibes are peaceful, making this the perfect spot to get work done, relax or have an intimate business meeting. It gets busier as the day goes on and closes daily at 10 pm.
The Huntr tried and loved two perfect Flat White (25AED) coffees.
Insider tip: Alchemy Dubai opens its doors at 8 am daily. There’s free WiFi.
