Arrows and Sparrows Dubai is a cosy little cafe in The Greens serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner (and great speciality coffee to boot). Join The Huntr as we present our full review…
From the same folks behind Friend’s Avenue Motor City and JLT, Arrows and Sparrows is a self-proclaimed “cafe and more”. What’s the “more”? Well for starters it’s dog-friendly (outside), and there’s a big focus on homely, healthy vibes.
Tucked away inside Emaar Business Park in The Greens, The Huntr visited Arrows and Sparrows for breakfast on a Saturday and sampled an array of coffees (which were excellent) and egg-based dishes including Miss Benedict, Miss Benedict slightly adjusted for our pregnant diner, scrambled eggs on toast and the English breakfast. All of our plates were emptied and we are happy to report that the dishes tasted as amazing as they looked. What was particularly great about them – and indeed what sets Arrows and Sparrows apart from some of our other favourite cool cafes – is how healthy they were. We’ve never seen an English breakfast with so many vegetables. Healthy and delicious: What could be better? Late risers will also be pleased to learn that Arrows and Sparrows serve all breakfast dishes until 1 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends.
What we didn’t love so much was the service, which was slow and lacking in initiative (we were told the blender wasn’t working for smoothies and shakes – but halfway through our visit it had clearly started working as these drinks were being served, yet our waiter didn’t bother to come and tell us). But this is pretty standard “Dubai”, so whilst it would be amazing if we could give Arrows and Sparrows a 9 or a 10 for service, the 7 we did score them won’t stop us from visiting again. Those eggs are too good… And we’ve got a bunch of salads to try!
Insider tip: Gets very busy at peak times. Expect slow service. Prepare to leave happy and full. Bring your pooch and sit outside if you like. Park right outside and get your parking ticket validated for free parking.
