Join The Huntr as we present our exclusive look inside Common Grounds DIFC…
Designed by Yam Jam Creative (the folks behind The London Project and Vibe), homegrown f&b conglomerate Bull & Roo continues its minimal aesthetic with the latest (and third) edition of its Common Grounds concept. Wooden tables and chairs are paired with pops of green and tan and the walls are done in stark concrete, which is juxtaposed with shiny white tiles. Elegant pendant lighting and green plants add cosiness and there are huge vases filled with charming floral bouquets. There’s also an open kitchen and a counter dedicated to freshly baked treats and speciality coffee, plus a variety of seating options for small and large groups alongside a small outdoor terrace area.
Food-wise, Common Grounds DIFC serves up the same delicious variety of meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner as it does at its original outpost in Mall of the Emirates. There are many vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available, alongside some cheat-day-worthy treats. The Huntr visited for a quick weekday breakfast. We opted for the Big Breakfast (70AED), which is a hearty mix of white toasted sourdough with two eggs, zaatar lamb sausage, sautéed wild mushrooms, beef bacon, kale and slow-cooked vine tomatoes. Plus the Acai Bowl (28AED for the small size), a blend of banana, strawberry, cacao and acai topped with gluten-free granola, dried raspberries, dragon fruit and passion fruit.
Drinks-wise, Common Grounds DIFC is alcohol-free and serves a variety of teas, speciality coffees, soft drinks, smoothies and more. We ordered a V60 (21AED) with Ugandan beans, which offered medium acidity and body.
Insider tips: Open during weekdays only from 7.30am until 6pm.
