Say hello to Cremolata Dubai – a tiny little ‘no-frills’ cafe serving gelato and speciality coffee in Umm Suqeim.
This Emirati-owned, homegrown gem is famed for its gelato and exotic flavours and it also happens to serve one of the best speciality coffees in the neighbourhood. The menu also features pancakes, cakes, and other sweet, cheat-day-worthy treats.
Interiors-wise there’s not much to report on. Cremolata is as basic as they come – think tired brown leather couches that have been well-loved (and quiet possibly add to the charm) and three basic tables set up inside to seat either one large group or several in close proximity to each other. There are also some tables and chairs outside for the cooler months, with picturesque views of the boats and water.
The Huntr visited Cremolata primarily to try its coffee, which is perfection and easily one of the best in the city. We didn’t try the gelato (it was too early), but the pretty views of the surrounding water and friendly server impressed us. What didn’t impress us, however, was that we visited Cremolata to sit down and get some work done, and unfortunately there’s no wifi.
Sadly we were a little too busy to sit outside and enjoy the views and some peace and quiet, so our visit was brief. However, we are planning to return and try that gelato and soak up some wonderful winter sun soon…
Insider tip: There is no wifi. So this is not a work-friendly spot. Cremolata Dubai is open daily from 9 am until 11 pm. Cremolata also have an outlet in Sharjah (which looks far more plush).
