Located within the impossibly beautiful One & Only Royal Mirage hotel, DRIFT Beach Dubai is the kind of place you go to see and be seen. Fancy, wow-worthy, with a pristine beachfront, Dubai Marina skyscraper views, and excellent restaurant and bar. DRIFT will transport you to vacay vibes faster than you can say “make mine a double”. Join The HUNTR as we share our recent DRIFT Beach Dubai dinner experience…
By day DRIFT is a hotspot where beautiful folks flock to get their dose of vitamin d and that #BeachLife Instagram pic. By night it transforms into a romantic oasis, complete with twinkling candles, live performers and music, and dinner and drinks under the stars.
Serving Provençal dishes with a twist, the menu encompasses pastas, seafood, raw fish, pizzas, risotto, steak, other meat dishes, and large dishes to share for the whole table. There are a couple of vegetarian-friendly dishes but vegans will find themselves limited. Nonetheless you are in for a treat – after all it’s not often your friends at The HUNTR score the food a solid 9.5 out of 10.
We whetted our appetites with the complimentary homemade bread and dips and glasses of ice-cold Minuty before diving head first into La Raviole Provincial (85AED) – delicious, perfectly-cooked ravioli with fresh cheese and spinach doused in a tomato and basil sauce, and sprinkled with Parmigiano Reggiano. Next, the Tartare de Thon (115AED) raw wild yellow fin tuna with sesame and mustard dressing, avocado puree and toasted buckwheat – an addictive mix of zesty flavours and textures that we can wholeheartedly recommend.
Onto the main courses and we opted to try the vegetarian Risotto Au Potiron (170AED) a rich and comforting mix of pumpkin, brown butter, sage, truffle and Taleggio cheese – easily one of the best risottos we’ve ever tried. And the La Daurade Royale (220AED) – a perfectly-plump steamed sea bream fillet served with a fresh mix of bok choy, broccolini, citrus, samphire, and salsa verde. The perfect healthy option.
Totally full but too greedy to pass up the dessert menu, we shared the Fondant Au Chocolat (40AED) – a melting chocolate cake with passion fruit sauce, mango and raspberry ice-cream and the Paris Brest (45AED) with hazelnut cream, choux pastry, fig puree, sliced fresh fig, and caramelised hazelnut. Both were faultless.
The bar at DRIFT Beach is fully licensed and could easily serve for any drinks-only occasion – especially if beautiful people and beautiful views are high on your agenda. See you there?
