Does Dubai need another speciality coffee shop? Absolutely. Especially if they look and taste as good as Drop Coffee – please keep them coming cafe opening people!
Founded by Emirati duo Mahmood Al Khamis and Ghanim Al Qassim this summer (2017), Drop Coffee Dubai is a strong new addition to the city’s burgeoning coffee scene. A self-proclaimed “third wave coffee company” (a movement to produce high-quality coffee, and consider coffee as an artisanal foodstuff, rather than a commodity), Drop Coffee is situated inside the new Dar Al Wasl Mall on Al Wasl Road and it’s as cool as a cucumber. Concrete and wooden elements make for a gorgeous space, and we adored the wooden chair that seats two – so cute. There’s also a book corner, which features a plethora of interesting coffee table tomes on subjects such as design, biographies and of course, coffee.
And what about the coffee? Well, it’s definitely special. Drop source their beans from outside of the country and roast them in-house themselves. They offer all of the classic favourites like espresso, flat white, and cafe latte alongside some interesting brews for the serious coffee connoisseur including the Chemex pour over, a Syphon vacuum pot, and the Hario V60 pour over.
Food wise there’s a small selection of pastries and sweet treats, which make the perfect coffee accompaniment.
If you love coffee and pretty spaces, you are going to love Drop Coffee Dubai. Don’t forget to add it to your Huntr hitlist here.
