Dubai reveals an inspiring 2 million AED public art programme

Dubai Culture has launched an exciting 2 million AED public art programme to turn the city of Dubai into an open-to-all, accessible art gallery. 

Whether you’re a painter, sculptor, or street artist, the creative authority invites artists to submit their installation ideas by February 13, 2023. The shortlisted artists will receive $5,000 to create a detailed proposal and a prototype of their piece. 

This latest project is part of a wider mission to support Dubai’s creative economy and encourage the artistic community to showcase the city’s rich creative identity.

Dubai Culture is also partnering with Art Dubai, Tashkeel, Alserkal, Art Jameel, and Akaas Visual Arts, who will invite Emirati and UAE-based artists to participate in site-specific art installations, which will first take place in the Al Hubaida garden next to the iconic Etihad Museum in Jumeirah 1.
