Flow Dubai is a great addition to Dubai’s healthy eating foodie scene. Read on for The Huntr’s full review and pictures…
If pastel colours are your thing, you’re going to love Flow Dubai at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. But this is no ordinary cafe – Flow Dubai also serves as a ‘creative hub’, offering a super cool meeting space with a screen and many creative corners to plonk yourself for the day whilst you work on your budding enterprise. In short: It’s a freelancers dream – and the coffee is top drawer (more on that later). A milk tap corner is framed with the words ‘don’t cry over spilt milk’ and offers diners three kinds of milk (almond, full fat and skimmed) on tap for their coffee or their granola bowl. This is a very snappable space and a strong contender for one of Dubai’s prettiest cafes. We loved the young energetic team working here, and found the service to be both accommodating and friendly.
The Huntr visited on a weekend day for lunch. We took advantage of the fact that Flow Dubai serves breakfast all day long and ordered the ‘Summer Vegetable White Omelette’ (20AED), which was filling and tasty, with a simple – but lovely – herb dressing. We also sampled the ‘Eggs Arlington’ (35AED) which comprises smoked salmon eggs Benedict with a healthier alternative to the traditional Hollandaise sauce (this one is made with yoghurt) and grilled asparagus. From the small plates section of the menu (available from 11 am) we decided to order the ‘Quinoa Crusted Baked Salmon’ (50AED), which comes with asparagus puree, pickled fennel, heritage tomatoes and a chervil dressing. And the ‘Asparagus, Beetroot and Feta Salad’ (35AED) – Belgian endives, hazelnuts, and a blood orange dressing. The latter of which was a particular favourite and is highly recommended. It’s a super fresh salad and you can taste all of the different layers. Tasty and nutritious.
Drinks wise, we were excited to discover that Flow Dubai serves speciality coffee from one of The Huntr’s favourites – The Espresso Lab by Emirati entrepreneur Ibrahim Al Mallouh. We tried the latte and the matcha latte. Both were amazing, especially when paired with the gluten-free raisin oatmeal cookies. Flow Dubai also has a range of cold-pressed organic juices, fresh smoothies, teas and almond, soy, rice and coconut milk – for those who prefer to avoid dairy.
Insider tip: Flow Dubai is open Sun-Thur 07:00 – 20:00 and Fri-Sat 09:00 – 17:00.
