Tucked away inside Alserkal Avenue, this gem is a great spot to work/study in thanks to its cool, calm, and inspiring vibes. A bespoke leather goods company first and foremost, let the founder and creative director Gautam Sinha’s impressive story of transforming “a single store in Delhi’s Hauz Khas Village (in 2010) to (brand now sold in) over 20 countries” inspire your grind.
Featuring two floors and a cosy little cafe, Nappa Dori has the added benefit of being dog-friendly inside and outside.
Grandmother Roastery: A beautiful specialty coffee roastery
Tucked away inside Dubai’s industrial neighbourhood Al Quoz, Grandmother Roastery is a homegrown, Emirati-owned specialty coffee roastery, offering a unique step inside the world of third-wave coffee. It’s a great place to work and study because it’s got fab coffee, strong WiFi, and calm, serene vibes (whenever we’ve visited anyway).
The space is expansive and the staff are friendly. The only thing that’s lacking is the food – there’s just a small selection of house-made bakes and treats.
Villa Margot: A homegrown florist, boutique and cafe
This charming homegrown florist, concept store, and cafe is a great place to visit to cosy up with your laptop or notebook. Particularly in Dubai’s cooler weather, when you can luxuriate outside in the picturesque courtyard.

Terra Eatery: A beautiful restaurant in Al Safa
Located next to Waitrose in Al Manara, Terra Eatery is a beautiful homegrown gem that far exceeds the expectations of a mall restaurant
The space is sheer perfection. We love the super high ceiling, the muted, earthy colour palette, and the hundreds of (real!) potted plants. There’s a lovely outdoor area (albeit facing a car park, but with many potted plants to conceal and trick you into thinking you’re elsewhere) alongside ample seating options for small and large groups inside. Busier during the evening than the day time, it's particularly productive to head here during a quiet weekday morning and enjoy a gourmet breakfast whilst you catch up with some work.

Seven Fortunes: A homegrown specialty coffee roastery and cafe
The brainchild of Toronto-born, Dubai-raised Karim Hassan, Seven Fortunes first opened its doors here in Al Quoz in late 2017. Built up of container rooms inside an expansive industrial warehouse, if you’re a specialty coffee nerd you will love working from this gem. Expansive and filled with the delicious scent of roasting coffee beans, it’s not always calm here (it can get a little busy during some points of the day) but it is always a great shout…
