DUBAI

Barsha

Window Alserkal Avenue: A chef-driven seasonal fire cooking in Dubai's Al Quoz

Most kitchens grill a burger and then add the bun and the toppings. Window does that but then they slice it in half and cook it over open flames again on a wood-fired grill, and the difference shows – a sesame brioche bun blistered by fire, melted cheese pooling over a patty that picks up smoke at every stage. It's the same philosophy that drives the rest of chef Gonzalo Platero's menu at this intimate 32-seat Alserkal Avenue restaurant: one technique, applied with real conviction.

The no-reservations format means arriving early is the move, especially during peak hours when the space fills fast. But for a burger that actually tastes like fire built it, the timing game is worth playing.

Maxzi: A reasonably priced Al Quoz gem with great food

Offering delicious, smashed burgers from its casual cafe and specialty food store in Al Quoz, Maxzi’s patties are not only fresh (never frozen), but also free of hormones, antibiotics, and MSG– dishing out quality ingredients and flavours that pack a punch.

Maisan15: A cosy eatery inspired by an artist’s studio in Barsha

With digs reminiscent of an artist’s studio space, this entry on our list is a little different than the rest.

Part restaurant, part art gallery, Maisan15 is a secret gem located in Al Barsha South. The locale features an outdoor patio with a lush garden, a community library, retro diner-style booths, and local art adorning the industrial-style walls of the space.

Maisan15 serves up a tasty array of dishes (including several vegetarian options) created with locally sourced ingredients. Though the restaurant may not be known for its burgers, they are next-level good.

Big T BBQ Kitchen: A homegrown barbecue gem in Al Quoz

Located in Dubai’s Al Quoz Industrial Area, Big T BBQ Kitchen is a homegrown, Texas-style BBQ joint that’s a must-visit for all BBQ and meat fans. The brainchild of chef and pitmaster Fadel, the warehouse space was once used by the family’s chocolate business. It is now transformed into a BBQ-lovers haven, featuring imported gadgets and equipment, and the delicious, mouth-watering smells of slow-cooked, wood-smoked meat.

The burger here is also pretty special, as are the fries… do not miss them.

Burj Khalifa Area

Two Bistro: A refined homegrown eatery inside the region's largest mall

This Emirati-owned bistro along Fashion Avenue at The Dubai Mall brings a calm, considered approach to all-day dining – soft colour palette, marble tables, fresh flowers – but it earns its place on this list through the Bistro Sliders (79 AED): smashed cheeseburgers served alongside a mushroom cream sauce made for dipping, the kind of combination that turns a simple burger into something you find yourself thinking about afterwards.

The wider menu spans French, English, and Arabic influences across breakfast through dinner, and the setting suits a leisurely lunch or a shopping-break meal equally well. It's a polished, alcohol-free spot that doesn't take itself too seriously – and the sliders are the order to make.

Financial Centre

The Sandwich Box: Late-night smash burgers on Sheikh Zayed Road

That neon yellow sign glowing near the Museum of the Future tells you everything upfront – no frills, no fuss, just smash burgers done properly at prices that won't make you wince. Burgers start at 21 AED, nothing breaks 32 AED, and the whole operation runs until 5 a.m. daily.

Patties are smashed to order on a hot griddle, cheese melts into crispy-edged beef, and the compact red-and-white space – with its "Wanna Smash?" neon and roughly seven high chairs – makes it clear that lingering isn't the point. The Seasoned Fries are worth the upgrade, and the milkshakes are exactly as thick and indulgent as they should be.

Junk Burger Dubai: London’s iconic smash burgers in the Trade Centre Area

Paris-born and London-proven, Junk Burgers landed in Dubai at One Central in late 2025 with the same stripped-back setup it runs across Europe – chrome counters, open kitchen, minimal seating, and a menu that takes about ten seconds to read. The smash burger formula is simple and specific: cold beef pressed hard on a hot griddle, caramelised edges, toasted brioche, homemade sauce, American cheese. You pick your size by patty count, from two (49 AED) up to five (79 AED). The Truffle Burger (55 AED) adds truffle sauce and crispy onions without overdoing it, and the Puffy cookies from their sister brand are worth saving room for.

The space doesn't encourage lingering – chrome everything, fast service, quick turnaround – which is precisely the point. Order at the counter, grab your tray, and eat. A veggie option is available using a plant-based patty, and it gets busy between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays and throughout weekends.

The Townhouse Dubai: Wagyu burger perfection in DIFC

Founded by six Emiratis on the fourth floor of DAMAC Park Towers, The Townhouse is a minimalist burger spot that delivers a disproportionately impressive result for its size. The menu is concise by design – wagyu patties with crisp, caramelised edges, perfectly melted American cheese, and thoughtfully built combinations like the Mad Burger (68 AED) with double patties, homemade pickles and caramelised onions on a milk bun, or the Firecracker (45 AED) which lets fresh jalapeños do the heavy lifting without drowning out the beef.

Worth noting: The Townhouse operates primarily as a delivery concept, which means walk-in lunch service on weekends can see ingredients run short before restocking. A quick call ahead will save disappointment if you've made the trip specifically for this one.

Jumeirah

Three Bros Bistro Dubai: Syrian heritage and reimagined comfort food in Jumeirah

The three Syrian brothers Mohammad, Wassim and Omar Orfali bring their Aleppo heritage and fine dining expertise to Three Bros Bistro in Wasl 51, Jumeirah 1, where the OG Cheeseburger from the Orfali Bros Bistro menu justifies its premium positioning with every element singing in harmony – a fluffy Hokkaido bun cradling perfectly cooked wagyu, Swiss cheese melting into caramelised onions and mushrooms, all bound together with umami mayo.

The brothers channel their technical prowess into this casual concept without sacrificing quality, creating accessible comfort food that sits alongside creative "pidza" offerings and impressive fermented drinks. The coral-red walls, geometric flooring, and open kitchen create a theatrical backdrop, whilst the completely alcohol-free establishment proves sophisticated dining needs no wine list. Open daily from noon to midnight, reservations essential.

Kumo: Incredible Japanese cuisine in a converted villa on Al Wasl

You might not expect to find one of Dubai's best burgers inside a refined Japanese restaurant, but Independent doesn't follow predictable paths. The team behind SALT (also in this guide), Parkers, and Somewhere has transformed a villa on Al Wasl Road into Kumo, their first elevated casual dining concept with A.R.M. Holding, where the wagyu burger sits alongside exceptional nigiri and handrolls.

The burger itself delivers exactly what you'd hope from the team behind the GCC's most famous burgers – premium wagyu handled with proper technique, balanced flavours, and execution that shows years of burger-making expertise translated into a more upscale context. The converted villa setting, with its minimal Japanese-inspired design, matcha bar, and open sushi counter, makes this feel like a special occasion burger rather than a quick bite, but the quality justifies the visit.

3 Fils: A tiny little Asian gem in the Jumeirah Fishing Harbour

Overlooking the scenic Jumeirah Fishing Harbour, this award-winning restaurant is a hotspot among locals.

You may not expect the Asian fusion restaurant to serve a mean burger, but one bite of their Wagyu burger will have you asking “Is there anything 3 Fils can’t do?”

Beau Burger Dubai: Some pretty epic burgers and fancy French vibes on Jumeirah Street

Living up to its name (“handsome” in French), Beau is meticulously laid out. It is owned by two Parisians who love food and fashion, they designed the space to resemble a chic apartment and will soon offer a curated selection of merchandise for sale.

The kitchen is spearheaded by Chef Vincent Le Moal, who has worked at the likes of the Burj Al Arab and Le Meurice in Paris. A self-proclaimed “purist, practical, high-end French brand”, Beau’s menu features smash burgers, signature sandwiches, sides, dipping sauces, and Choux de Paris.

High Joint: Exceptional burgers, wings and fries in Al Safa

This Emirati-owned casual diner specializes in burgers, wings, and fries.

The teeny-tiny restaurant is located just off of Al Manara and is the perfect choice for those looking to indulge in some mouthwatering cheat day treats. But don’t be fooled by the size, what the High Joint lacks in m², it more than makes up for in flavour…

She Burger: A homegrown burger icon at the Dar Al Wasl Mall

She Burger has been on the HUNTR’s radar since 2013 when we used to visit the founder’s house to pick up her secret WhatsApp-order creations. Fast-forward a few years and She Burger is all grown up with its very own restaurant…

She Burger’s menu features a mouth-watering assortment of dishes, including ten different burgers to sample. The food alone is good enough to keep us coming back, but as a bonus, She Burger is also one of the Emirates’ proudly local and female-owned businesses.

Meat Me There: Epic burgers and epic water views

Brought to you by two foodie sisters, this cosy little Jumeirah gem proves that good things come in small packages.

Overlooking the Fishing Harbor off of Jumeirah Beach Road, Meat Me There dishes up a limited menu of four beef burgers made with Black Australian onyx beef. The patties are chilled and imported directly from some of Australia’s best farms.

Salt: From food truck to burgeoning empire

What started as the emirate's first food truck concept – a single truck and a clever Instagram handle – has grown into a regional institution with outposts across the UAE and Riyadh. The formula is deceptively simple: signature slider duos, hand-cut fries, ice cream softies, and a beachside-cool aesthetic that's remained consistent through every expansion.

The founders keep things fresh with rotating specials and limited-edition drops, and the menu has grown to include breakfast and sweet treats without losing sight of what built the following in the first place. The Kite Beach original is where it all began, and still the one worth going back to.

Eleven Green: A homegrown burger joint in Umm Suqeim

Born from the creators of the Tanos at 8 supper club, Sultan and Kinda Chatila, Eleven Green made its name on the pop-up circuit before earning international recognition – including a third-place finish at the World Food Championships – and landing a permanent home on the ground floor of Meyan Mall on Al Thanya Street. The Bull Burger that won them that accolade is the obvious starting point: expertly smashed patties, crispy caramelised edges, and cheese melted in all the right places.

The space leans into contemporary industrial – polished concrete, exposed ductwork, a bold green chalkboard wall – with an open kitchen that puts the smashing technique on full display. It's a focused menu done with real conviction, and the results speak for themselves.

Hapi: Wholesome eats and park life vibes

Chef Paul Frangie's homegrown cafe inside Al Khazzan Park earns its spot on this list for making delicious burgers that happen to be pretty good for you. Grass-fed, organic ingredients, and even bone marrow sauce for its delicious nutritional boost. The crinkle cut fries are cooked in duck fat and the sauces are all made from scratch. There’s even a cheeseburger pancake for those who want to get their burger fix first thing. The wider menu follows the same wholesome philosophy across breakfast, lunch and dinner, with bone broth, quality meat and fish dishes, and homemade ice cream that regularly steals the show.

The setting is as much the draw as the food – a stone-clad structure with minimal indoor seating that opens out onto park benches, shaded trees, and the sprawling green of Al Khazzan Park itself. Bring a picnic blanket, come with kids, and stay longer than you planned.

Lento: Artisanal smashed burgers by Chef Faisal

Born in Abu Dhabi, Lento is a homegrown burger joint by celebrated Emirati chef Faisal Naser. Here on Al Wasl Road in Dubai, Lento features super cool, urban interiors, a DJ booth, a toe-tapping hip-hop playlist, and an easy-going, casual vibe…

Named after the word for “slowly” in Spanish, Lento was created to offer an alternative to the standard ‘fast food’ idea usually applied to burgers. Using organic, grass-fed beef and local, free-range chicken, the burgers here feature the finest ingredients, including homemade buns.

Mirdif Area

Flip Smash Burgers: Homegrown smash burger spot in Al Mizhar

This Emirati-owned spot in Al Mizhar keeps things focused: three burgers, three styles of fries, cookies, and sodas. The wagyu patties are smashed to order and the buns are made in-house – a combination that lifts this well above the average fast-casual burger run. The Secret (44 AED) is the one to order, its house sauce adding a tangy sweetness that cuts through the richness of the beef without overwhelming it.

The space is minimal and unfussy, with counter seating inside and a handful of outdoor tables on a quiet plaza. It suits solo visits and quick takeaway runs far better than a long lunch – but for a well-executed smash burger in Dubai's eastern suburbs, it's worth the detour.

Nad Al Sheba

Jona's Burger: A homegrown burger joint in Nad Al Sheba's Avenue Mall

From the team behind DIFC's Orijins specialty coffee shop comes this burger joint that operates with impressive dedication – everything prepped fresh daily from morning, house-made sauces, and wagyu patties that justify the attention. The JB Classic covers essential burger territory with wagyu, cheese, sliced onions, lettuce, tomato, and their signature JB sauce, whilst the Jammy Boy demonstrates kitchen ambition through smoky bacon jam, crispy shallots, jalapeño, and chipotle mayo.

The wagyu arrives juicy and flavourful, cooked properly and housed in soft buns that maintain structure throughout. The house-made JB sauce provides the right tangy-sweet balance that enhances rather than masks the meat. Located inside Avenue Mall with free parking, this spot works well for both quick stops and proper sit-down burger sessions, open daily from 6 p.m. until midnight.

New Dubai Area

Pickl Burger: One of Dubai’s best homegrown burger joints

Stephen Flawith and Nabil Al Rantisi's industrial-cool burger joint in JLT has been a Dubai staple since 2019, and the following is well-earned. Hormone and antibiotic-free beef shipped from the USA, soft potato buns, and a specialty pickle selection – dill, onion, jalapeño – that gives the place its name. The Bacon Double Cheeseburger (50 AED) and Chicken Sando (35 AED) are the orders to make, the Messy Fries (25 AED) are non-negotiable, and the ice cream burger exists for those with the foresight to leave room.

Vegetarians are covered with a Beyond Meat option, bread-avoiders can go lettuce wrap, and the free Wi-Fi and generous seating make it as good for a working lunch as a casual family dinner. One hour of free parking, then 10 AED per hour – worth factoring in if you plan to linger.

Satwa

DIME: Homegrown American diner and burger restaurant in Al Satwa

DIME strips away endless menu options to focus on perfecting two signature burgers. This retro-inspired diner from Table4Two in Al Satwa channels 1980s Americana through warm wood surfaces, polished metal accents, and custom lighting sourced from New York, but the real substance comes from their house-made approach – buns baked fresh daily, pickles crafted in-house, and a proprietary beef blend developed through months of testing.

The Classic features double cheese, ketchup, mustard, diced onion, and pickles in that homemade milk bun, whilst The Dime showcases their proprietary sauce alongside sliced onions and double cheese. Both deliver exactly what proper diner burgers should: juicy patties, buns that hold together, and flavours that balance nostalgia with genuine quality. The focused menu extends to golden nuggets, waffle fries, proper thick milkshakes, and freshly baked pies – everything refined, nothing frozen. Open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily, it's ideal for dinner or late-night cravings.
