Fresh flavours and meticulous attention to detail define the UAE's newest independent cafés, specialty coffee spots and bakeries in 2024. From Dubai to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, skilled baristas and bakers are elevating the art of hospitality through carefully considered spaces that excel at both coffee and cuisine.

The year brought particular richness to the Emirates' coffee offerings – think small-batch roasts prepared with precision and innovative breakfast dishes that complement your morning brew. Local entrepreneurs and international tastemakers have created welcoming spaces where the coffee service matches the calibre of the kitchen.

Visit peaceful waterfront nooks for hand-poured speciality coffee, or settle into snug neighbourhood bakeries where the scent of fresh sourdough mingles with sweet notes of house-made pastries. Each new venue brings its own perspective on what makes a truly memorable café experience.

This guide spans exceptional independent cafés and bakeries that opened their doors from late 2023 through 2024 – venues we've thoroughly experienced throughout the year.

A note from the HUNTR: There are several venues that opened their doors in November and December 2024 that might deserve a spot in this guide. We believe in taking time to properly experience destinations before deciding whether they are worthy of a spot on the HUNTR Directory. We'll continue updating this guide as we complete our visits in the coming weeks.
