If kayaking at the mesmerizing Louvre in Abu Dhabi doesn’t sound like a must-do activity then we don’t know what to tell you. Because that’s exactly what this is…
Ideal during the capital’s blissful winter season, kayaking at the Louvre Abu Dhabi is available for sunrise and sunset sessions. Your friends at The Huntr have actually tried both and we preferred the latter for several reasons. Sunrise is cooler so you can manage it even in August and we enjoyed starting our day with such a once-in-a-lifetime activity.
The experience lasts one hour and there’s one sunrise session from 6 am until 7 am and then another from 8 am until 9 am. Plus three sessions available for the afternoon and sunset – 3 pm, 4.30 pm, and 6 pm.
You are provided with a waterproof bag to protect your phone and camera, a bottle of water, a life jacket, and either a double or a solo kayak. Whilst relatively easy, you are rowing against the wind in our experience so be prepared for a little work.
Priced at 126AED per person (and available to those aged 6 years old and up), it’s one of those bucket list activities that we suggest everyone dip their toes into – ASAP. Book your tickets here.
Insider tips: Arrive 20 minutes early. Use the club car to reach the kayaking point. The closest parking is the one nearest to Fouquet Restaurant. Bring extra clothes in case you get wet. Leave your shoes at the starting point. Bring your own cold water because this is thirsty work. If you need help during the experience just tell the guide and they will help you. Bring snacks to eat after – this is hunger-inducing work. The bathrooms aren’t close by so plan accordingly.
