Part shop, part cafe and part wellness centre, Life N One Dubai is unlike anywhere else in the city. Join your friends at The Huntr as we present a closer look…
This homegrown concept encompasses a wellness centre with yoga (amongst other fitness/wellness classes) and alternative treatments like reiki, hypnotherapy and craniosacral therapy. A small boutique that stocks activewear and wellness paraphernalia and a plant-based cafe – One Cafe. The wellness centre area is all inside and features treatment rooms and spaces for group classes, the store is situated in the main reception area. Whilst the cafe and the kitchen is all outside at the back of the converted villa. During the cooler months, visitors can luxuriate in the splendid (dog-friendly) garden, sitting with nature on rustic logs and cushions And for the hotter months, there is an air-conditioned tented area.
In alignment with its mission to offer the ultimate wellbeing, Life N One Dubai is purposefully smoke and wifi-free. Open seven days a week, the cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside dairy-free coffees, smoothies and soft drinks.
The Huntr visited between breakfast and lunch on a Saturday. We tried the Eggless Omelette (52AED), which is made using chickpea flour and folded with spinach over pan-sauteed mushrooms and semi-dried tomatoes with cashew cream cheese, sour cream, avocado and salsa. The Acai Bowl (54AED), which was one of our favourite dishes and is topped with passion fruit, homemade granola and fresh berries. And from the lunch/dinner menu – The Salad I was Looking For (52AED), a delicious mix of rocket salad, dehydrated pears topped with ashwagandha and lucuma coated walnuts, herbed cashew cheeseballs and pomegranate seeds with beetroot and chia seeds dressing and the Unbeatable Vurger (72AED) – a gluten-free bun filled with an oyster mushroom patty, ‘I’m-not-a-Gruyere Cheese’, melted cheddar cheese, more mushrooms, mixed greens and homemade cucumber pickles and sprouts.
From the drinks menu, we tried the Iced Match (37AED) – homemade coconut milk, matcha tea and coconut sugar syrup and a non-dairy Cafe Latte (27AED) (we opted to mix almond and coconut milk). Kangen water, an 8.5 alkaline water, is also available for 2AED for unlimited servings.
Insider tip: Wear trousers or a maxi dress and avoid wearing white because you may find yourself sitting crossed legged on the floor, or on a dusty log – but it’s all part of the fun. No smoking allowed. There is no WiFi available either. Breakfast is served all day. Everything on the menu is plant-based. Life N One’s One Cafe is open daily from 9.30am until 7.30pm (last order for food is 7pm).
