Lima Dubai: A gorgeous Peruvian hotspot with beautiful interiors

Residing in the heart of all things classy and cool at City Walk in Dubai, Lima Dubai brings an equally exciting and authentic Peruvian dining experience offering to the UAE. After shaking up the culinary scene in London in 2012 and becoming the first Peruvian restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star, Lima officially opened its doors in Dubai in March 2017…

Lima Dubai features a beautifully designed interior decorated with carefully curated furniture and a creative set of wall murals tinkered with quirky Peruvian-inspired home accessories. Also, unlike many restaurants who just play a random set of songs, this gem can and should be proud of its hip, cool and chilled playlist, which sets the mood perfectly.

By recommendation of the manager, we ordered the signature ceviches for starters — the Catch of the Day Ceviche (AED 65) and Red Tuna Ceviche (AED 65), which were served with fresh-out-of-the-oven sweet potato bread and were a delightful mix of seafood with red onions, Crancha corn, sweet potato, and traditional tiger’s milk. Divine. Peruvian cuisine is known for its seafood, but when we asked for vegetarian-friendly dishes for our guest, the waiter smiled and excitingly served us two of his favourites: The Sour Roots Causa (AED 50) and Quinoa Nikkey. Pretty as a picture, the Sour Roots Causa, in its colourful glory, filled our mouths a soft, sensational taste with its peppery escabeche sauce balanced by the sweet purple potato’s base; but the real star of the show was the Quinoa Nikkey, which looked like a simple salad but actually surprised us by having a warm mashed garlic potato concealed at the bottom.

And then it was time for dessert and we opted to share the Avocado Mousse (AED 50). This little beauty features a chocolate mousse made with 75% chocolate and rocoto pepper, masquerading as an avocado.

To end our Peruvian cuisine adventure, we had coffee with a set of tiny tastes of different traditional desserts. Although the cup of coffee wasn’t the best we’ve ever had, it was drinkable.
