L’Occitane Cafe Dubai is a must-visit eatery in City Walk. Join your friends at The Huntr as we present the full scoop…
Filled with the French brand’s signature sunflower yellow hue and the heady scent of its famed beauty products, L’Occitane Cafe in Dubai’s City Walk is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The space is relaxing and chic, filled with natural light and provides ample seating options for small and large groups. Whilst the L’Occitane shop offers a tempting invitation to indulge in a spot of retail therapy pre or post-cafe experience.
The menu is pretty extensive and there’s something for everyone – a full breakfast spread, light bites, healthy salads, cheat-day-worthy plates, pastries and desserts and more. Vegetarian diets are catered to (there are also a few vegan-friendly dishes) and there’s a separate kid’s menu. Drinks-wise L’Occitane is alcohol-free and offers a wide variety of beverages, all served in beautiful glasses (and not a plastic straw in sight!) plus speciality teas and organic coffees (with vegan milk alternatives).
The Huntr whetted our appetites with the complimentary bread basket, complete with salty butter, EVOO and balsamic vinegar. We then opted for the limited-time chef’s special Salmon Carpaccio (65AED), which was light and flavourful and La Burrata (69AED) which comes with sweet fig, salty pesto and was one of our favourite dishes. From the mains section of the menu it is hard to ignore the gorgeous picture of the Gnocchi Daube (89AED) and boy are we glad we ordered it – tender, melt-in-your-mouth Angus beef is laid on a bed of pillowy gnocchi complete with a delicious, glossy sauce. Divine. The Chicken Provencal (95AED) features a generous serving of chicken with a hearty casserole of tomatoes, purple olives and a pesto sauce served with artisanal bread toast.
You can’t visit this gem without sampling something sweet. We must insist you order the Mille-Feuille (45AED) if you enjoy the sweet taste of vanilla custard cream, chantilly and puff pastry. It is simply perfect (and worth every calorie). The Luscious Chocolate Fondant (52AED) is also great and features a decadent ‘self-saucing’ 70% Acarigua chocolate pudding served with creme Anglaise, cocoa nib crumble, vanilla ice cream and seasonal fruits.
Last but not least, we loved the two mocktails we tried Bicycle of the Sun (55AED) and Bubble Sky (48AED). They were both refreshing, beautifully presented and delicious.
The upscale but casual vibes make this a great spot to come for a working lunch, a meeting, a date with friends or to indulge in some ‘me-time’ (with burrata and mille-feuille of course).
