Maisan15 is unlike any other place we’ve visited in the UAE. It’s like stumbling across an artist’s den, discovering there’s an awesome cafe/restaurant inside and never wanting to leave. Every detail is thought out – from the playlist to the casual servers who feel like old friends and the pretty little front terrace, which is arguably one of the best secret spots to while away a morning or an afternoon when the weather permits…
Formerly known as Cabin, Maisan15 is the brainchild of Emirati artist and entrepreneur Rami Farook. It is enclosed within a circular, wooden-boarded courtyard garden at the base of the Maisan Tower in Al Barsha South. Restaurant, gallery, garden, cafe and library, the space is simultaneously inspiring and cosy. It’s the perfect spot to get some work done or host a creative meeting, plus the food is some of the best in the city and the kitchen take great pride in their seasonal menus – sourcing local produce where possible and offering some interesting takes on popular dishes such as the epic Croque
Monsieur Maisan Breakfast Pizza (50AED), which is a must try and currently features on Maisan15 Dubai’s Summer 2019 menu.
Insider tips: Free parking available on the sand/dirt road directly outside. Open weekdays from 8am until 11pm and weekends (and public holidays) from 9am until 11pm.
