Say ‘annyeonghaseyo’ to one of Abu Dhabi’s top-rated Korean dining experiences and join your friends at The HUNTR as we present the scoop…
A 30-minute drive from downtown Abu Dhabi, a lunch or dinner experience at Madang is well worth it.
Tucked away inside the Al Ghazal Golf Club, the restaurant can accommodate small and large groups and it also offers private dining rooms. You can opt to sit on the floor as do as the Koreans do, or there are chairs with legs if you prefer. The traditional Korean interior design is very charming (albeit a little tired – but perhaps it adds to the charm) and Madang offers its visitors a truly unique and authentic Korean experience.
The menu is expansive and features an array of popular Korean dishes. The HUNTR opted to sample the best-selling dishes on the waiter’s recommendation. It is worth noting that the portions are generous and that all of the food is cooked using authentic Korean ingredients and recipes.
The kimchi was the best we have ever had and Madang is known for its fried chicken (116AED per 1/2 chicken portion) – trust us, all five creations will leave you wanting more. However, the star of the day was Fondue Chicken (157AED, good for 2-4 people) – a decadent combination of cheese fondue and marinated chicken (dak galbi) with vegetables, a must-try. The BBQ is also a DIY experience not to be missed. For dessert, we opted to try the Snow Falling Bing Su (42AED) (available in various flavour combinations, we opted for the mango) topped with coconut flakes and mango chunks.
Drinks-wise, Madang is fully licensed and offers a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including Korean tea, spirits, and beers.
There’s even a little Korean supermarket to check out on your way out…
Insider tips: Open daily from 12noon until 12midnight. To reserve a private dining room book in advance to avoid disappointment. Service a little slow at times.
