Join your friends at The Huntr as we present an exclusive look inside Mirzam Chocolate Dubai’s brand new digs in Al Quoz…
Formerly housed at Alserskal Avenue, Dubai’s much-loved homegrown, bean-to-bar chocolate brand has upped sticks and moved to a brand new (huge) warehouse in the nearby Al Quoz 3. Folks that have visited Mirzam’s old location will be pleased to learn that all of the best stuff (incredible chocolate smell, live chocolate making, industrial-chic vibes etc) is still intact at the new place and the key changes are (a) the space has more than doubled and (b) there is now a more expansive savoury food offering including filled croissants and light bites (alongside the iconic chocolate and desserts of course).
The perfect spot to hold a casual meeting, catch up on reading or work, or get together with your nearest and dearest, Mirzam offers a variety of seating options and various cosy corners. The retail area offers the opportunity to purchase Mirzam’s beautifully crafted speciality chocolate bars plus an assortment of other treats, all of which would make the ideal gift for someone special.
The cafe is currently operating an ‘order and pay first’, self-service set-up and the menu features an edited selection of savoury and sweet items that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, a light bite or a decadent treat. The Huntr opted for the delicious Smoked Salmon Tartine (45AED), which features smoked salmon farmed and smoked here in the UAE (by Fish Farm), dill labneh and local pickled onions with citrus. Plus the Loaded Croissant (35AED) with cucumber, tomatoes, herbs and mozzarella, which is fresh and tasty. It’s worth noting that you can opt to swap tartines for croissants and vice versa. Plus Mirzam has made the smart decision to partner up with fellow homegrown small business Birch Bakery to supply its carbs (their bread and pastries are faultless – more details coming to thehuntr.com soon).
Onto the sweet stuff and the Salted Date Caramel Cookies (17AED each) are a must-order and worth every calorie and we also enjoyed the Orange and Almond Flourless Cake. Naturally, we couldn’t resist leaving without trying a Chocolate Softie (15AED) powered by Canvas Gelato and we suggest you do the same.
Drinks-wise Mirzam is alcohol-free and offers a variety of speciality coffees powered by local Dubai-based roastery Gold Box, teas and of course, hot chocolate. Arguably the best hot chocolate in town, we loved the Spiced Hot Chocolate with Sea Salt (26AED). The Flat White (22AED) was also perfect.
Insider tips: Open seven days a week from 9am until 9pm. Visit Mirzam’s online store here. Paid RTA parking available out front.
