Moylos Burgers Jumeirah: A tiny little homegrown gem on Jumeirah Beach Road

Moylos Burgers Jumeirah first opened its doors in 2014. It was one of the first Emirati-owned, independent burger joints in the city and is part of Dubai SMEs – a government-backed initiative aimed at fostering local entrepreneurs and their enterprises.

Moylos story curiously didn’t start with burgers. It started with the sauce. Emirati co-founder Ismail spent years fine-tuning a sauce that he began to sell to friends and family – the demand got so great that he realised the next thing to do was to open a burger joint. Because sauce without burgers and fries is… Well, a waste!

Inspired by the homegrown burger joint scenes in London and New York, Ismail and Jamal Al Sharif opened their tiny little gem on Jumeirah Beach Road in 2014. Since then it has become a must-visit cheat-day hotspot for those in the know – including HRH Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai.

Interiors-wise, Moylos is as cute and cosy as they come. It’s a feast for the eyes (and the belly – more on that to come) – think newspaper-pasted walls, pops of primary colours, a padlock wire where customers can leave a message, exposed brickwork, and handwritten chalkboard menus.

The beef patties are crafted with 100% Wagyu beef and the sauces are all handmade. There is one vegetarian burger – the OMG Burger, a veggie halloumi creation, the signature Moylo’s Classic Burger, the Truffle Shuffle with beef, two chicken burgers – the Hot Chick (spicy) and the Chicken Run (grilled), a honey BBQ option with beef called Honey Bee, Cheese Attack with beef and a Gangnam Style burger with spiced orange slaw, Korean BBQ, crispy sweet potato and melted cheddar. For sides, you can choose between Parmesan Truffle Fries, Sweetheart Fries (sweet potato fries served with beetchup), Onion Rings, the Mama Mia (steak fries loaded with cheese Moylo’s sauce, jalapenos and onions), Hot Spring (curly fries garnished with Moylo’s secret spicy mix alongside truffle mayo), and good old Plain Fries. There are also three milkshakes on offer, various mocktails, and soft drinks and you can opt to lighten your calorie load by swapping out the white potato buns with brown bread buns or lettuce wraps.

The Huntr opted for Moylos Classic Burger (40.95AED), the Hot Chick (40.95AED), the Parmesan Truffle Fries (21AED), and the Sweetheart Fries (21AED). Everything was delicious, handcrafted with high-quality ingredients, and worth every calorie. We washed it all down with the Salted Caramel milkshake (32.55AED) and a Coca Cola (10.50AED).
