Mythos Dubai: Delicious Greek food served in a whitewashed taverna with a pretty outdoor terrace

Take a step inside Mythos Dubai with The Huntr. A gorgeous little licensed, whitewashed taverna with an outdoor terrace that serves unbelievable Greek food in the heart of Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT)…

Located in the basement of the Armada Bluebay Hotel in JLT, this restaurant offers some of the best Greek food in the UAE. Compact and cute, Mythos Dubai will transport you to Greece thanks to its traditional stonewalls and rustic, Mediterranean interiors. Plus there’s a beaut outdoor terrace, which features a real olive tree and the perfect place to enjoy Dubai’s cooler climes.

To start we were served complimentary bread and olives to whet the appetite whilst we perused Mythos’ menu, which features a bounty of authentic Greek dishes. The Huntr ordered the Tzatsiki (23AED), Melitzanosalata (35AED) – grilled eggplant tossed with tomato, onion, garlic and fine herbs, seasoned with red balsamic and the homemade Pita Bread (6AED). Plus the incredibly tender and delicious Grilled Octopus (75AED) tentacle with fennel vinaigrette and the Oven Baked Feta (43AED) with tomato sauce, capsicum, fresh basil and olive oil.

Appetites suitably whetted and it was onto the main courses – which for us were the Greek Salad (39AED) to share plus the melt-in-your-mouth Suckling Lamb (93AED), which is slow-cooked with fresh oregano and lemon pilafi rice. The rich and flavourful Moussaka (69AED) made with minced lamb and beef and topped with creamy bechamel. And last but not least the Charcoal Grilled Lamb Chops (91AED), which come with Greek fries and a smooth yoghurt sauce.

Every dish was faultless – perfectly cooked, using the finest ingredients and lots of love. The plates are all great for sharing should you wish and the folks at Mythos are ready to guide you based on your preferences. One such member of staff recommended we order the Galaktobourekakia (42AED) for dessert and we will be forever grateful. Do not miss these amazing crispy filo pastry rolls filled with vanilla custard and topped with homemade aromatic syrup. The Loukoumades (33AED) sticky doughnut-esque balls and the Portokalopita (37AED) citrusy orange cake were also pretty darn delicious – plus the Greek espressos were the perfect accompaniment.

This little JLT gem is one of The Huntr’s favourite spots and we can’t wait to return in the winter to luxuriate on the pretty outdoor terrace. Perfect for small or large groups, first dates, date nights, special occasions such as birthdays, business meetings and to impress clients.

Insider tips: Free parking for up to 3 hours at Cluster P. Advance bookings recommended to avoid disappointment. Outside of the appetisers and salads they aren’t that many options for vegetarians and vegans – check the menu here. During the cooler winter months Mythos transforms into an “inside/outside” concept and the glass doors are all opened up – it’s divine.
