Opened on April 29th 2021 at the Mall of the Emirates, No.FiftySeven Boutique Cafe’s Dubai arrival has been a long time coming. The Abu Dhabi-based foodie favourite founded by Emirati duo Alamira Noor Bani Hashim and Buthaina Al Mazrui, started a supper club when its first restaurant opening was delayed. The dinners were so successful that they became their own thing – Dinner Club by No57 and they continue to run limited-edition dinner experiences for the likes of Net-A-Porter and Cartier. No.FiftySeven Boutique Cafe Abu Dhabi opened in 2014 and has been a firm favourite for UAE foodie and design fans since. And now, finally, there’s an outpost in Dubai too…

Alamira and Buthaina exclusively told The HUNTR: “We’ve been working on opening a Dubai branch for the longest time and we’ve finally found our little haven on the second floor of THAT Concept Store in Mall of the Emirates. Similar to our Abu Dhabi brick and mortar space, we were inspired by natural textures and finishes for the interiors, to create a warm inviting space…

Arches were very predominant in old architecture in the Emirates and we decided to give them a more modern look within our space. Everything in the space is custom made and we selected every single fabric and material ourselves. Every clay vase was hand-selected by us as well, some even painted by us. The space even features artwork by Noor’s father. We’ve really poured our sweat and some tears into this project.

The menu is a combination of some of our signature dishes and bestsellers (from the Abu Dhabi outpost), like the spicy tuna on crispy rice, Sheyat Emirati lamb and creme brulee stuffed French toast, and some new additions – the Korean egg drop sandwich, a very pretty crepe lasagna bolognese, veal Milanese topped with cherry tomatoes and arugula, Mama Hepburn’s velvety Chocolate Pot and a delicious olive oil ice cream dusted with brown butter crumble.”

…And it’s a triumph. A spectacularly beautiful place – chic and relaxing, minimal yet cosy. The oversized door arches are striking, the muted colour palette is soothing, and you will want the chairs and decorative objects for your own home.

Alcohol-free, family-friendly, and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, No.FiftySeven Boutique Cafe Dubai marks one of the mall’s few homegrown concepts.

The HUNTR’s breakfast experience was fantastic. We loved the No.57 Omelette (60AED) – a delicately folded omelet with an avocado flower, crumbled Boursin cheese, cheddar cheese, chives, and served with buttered sourdough toast. The Hashbrown Benedict (55AED) was also great, and features hash browns, smoked salmon, poached eggs, sakura mixed herbs, spinach, and hollandaise sauce. We washed these down with the 57 Berries (35AED) drink – a mix of fresh berries and orange juice and our favourite, the No 57 Iced Tea (27AED) – Earl Grey tea with lavender, and agave honey – it smells and tastes divine, don’t miss it.

From the sweet side of the menu, we sampled the Activated Charcoal Pancakes (55AED) with salted butter, berries, and maple cream, which are fluffy, delicious, and pleasing for the eyes. Plus the Crunchy Vanilla French Toast (55AED), which is a strong contender for the Emirate’s best French Toast – crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly sweet but not too sickly. These dishes were perfectly matched with specialty coffee powered by Blacksmith Coffee Co – another celebrated Abu Dhabi-based homegrown business.

Finally, we couldn’t leave without trying the dessert that is sure to get everyone obsessed – Mama Hepburn’s Chocolate Pot (50AED), which is Alamira’s mother’s creation and worth every calorie.

The lunch and dinner menu features starters, salads, and sandwiches, and main courses – there are light options, healthy options, and cheat-day-worthy creations. Plus there are two kid’s dishes and a dedicated dessert menu.

Whether you are popping in to have something sweet with a coffee or want to sit down and have a three-course meal, are dining solo to catch up on work, or are meeting a few friends – say hello to your new favourite homegrown place at Mall of the Emirates…
