Conceptualised by Emirati national Maitha Bin Byat, Nostalgia Dubai first opened its doors in November 2017 and is built around a philosophy of creating experiences for the community that invoke ‘Nostalgia’ and keep them coming back…
Although there is no main menu available, there is plenty on offer to tempt every sweet tooth – including gelato, gelato balls, hand-painted chocolates that look like pieces of art, house-made chocolate bars, pastries, milk cakes, and individual desserts.
The team at Nostalgia source their coffee from Grandmother Roastery, which is a sister company. They use micro-lot coffee beans from different regions around the world. Impressively, there are two barista champions in the Nostalgia Dubai team – the 2018 Brewer’s Cup Champion and the 2016 Latte Art Champion. Almond milk is available for those who prefer and there are also plenty of teas and other soft drinks if coffee isn’t your thing.
This homegrown Al Safa gem is open Sunday until Wednesday 7 am until 10 pm and Thursday until Saturday 7 am until 11 pm.
Insider tip: Free WiFi available. No main dishes. There’s also an outdoor seating area.
