You’ll be hard pushed to find a prettier spot than Park House Barsha Pond Park to enjoy the glorious Dubai winter. Discover more from this family-friendly homegrown gem with your friends, The Huntr, now…
The folks at Park House first opened shop in Kite Beach at the beginning of 2014 (more on that here). Their mission was clear: To provide delicious, wholesome food in a perfect setting, and complement their loyal customer’s days out at the beach. Fast-forward a few years and there are now four Park House locations, most recently Park House XPark Junior, which opened in March 2018 (more on that here), Nessnass Beach, which opened in October 2017 (and is coming to thehuntr.com soon), and – the focus of this feature – at Barsha Pond Park, which opened in May 2016.
Park House Barsha Pond Park is the perfect spot to enjoy Dubai’s cooler weather with the little ones, family or friends. Surrounded by greenery, the water and public playgrounds, this gem serves breakfast all day long alongside lunch and dinner options, plus a special BBQ deal that runs on the weekends.
Open daily from 7 am until 9 pm, there are some healthy options on the menu including organic, gluten-free, and vegetarian dishes, alongside heartier dishes and special treats. There’s also a dedicated kid’s menu, which features five savoury options and a mini version of the gluten-free pancakes. Although it’s a shame that all of savoury dishes are deep-fried and come with fries – we’d love to see some of Park House’s ‘The Home of Everything Natural’ philosophy be applied to the little ones.
All of the food is served in takeaway packaging to cater to those who want to picnic further afield in the park. There are also outdoor seating options available for those who want to stay close by. In the interest of sustainability and waste-prevention, it would be great to see Park House offer crockery to those who want to dine “in”.
Nonetheless, all of the food we tried was great. Fresh, tasty and wholesome, we sampled the Avocado Toast (42AED) and Hot-Pressed Croissant (27AED) for breakfast. The avo toast is comprised of toasted sourdough, avocado, organic egg, chilli flakes, cress, chia and flax seeds. The croissant was filled with smoked turkey ham, cheddar, lettuce and tomato.
Keen to sample Park House’s weekend BBQ deal (any BBQ main, fries and a soft drink for 50AED), we couldn’t resist ordering the Wagyu Beef Burger deal (50AED) and the Hot Dog (48AED). Both were delicious.
We also shared a rather delightful Chocolate Brownie (20AED).
Drinks-wise, the coffee is powered by Huntr fave Seven Fortunes, the Flat White (21AED) was perfection and the Fresh Lemonade (15AED) was the perfect thirst-quencher.
Insider tip: There is only outdoor seating available here – so be sure to visit during the cooler winter months.
