Conceptualized by two sisters – Sophiya and Sarah Faizal – Paus is a unique concept. Situated inside a white villa in Umm Suqeim 2, this homegrown wellness haven is spread over two floors and features a cafe, treatment and meditation room, movement studio, member’s lounge, consultation area, and a wellness shop.

Created to be a “pause” in someone’s day, and a safe haven providing an environment that gives a positive impact to its guest’s physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, Paus is tranquil and welcoming. We loved the beautiful furniture, hanging opaque drapes, potted plants, and neutral colour palette.

There are a plethora of ways in which you can experience Paus. You can just visit to say hello, grab a bite to eat, and drink some coffee. Perhaps read a book in the garden. You can also book in to experience one of Paus’s signature movement classes (featuring yoga, pilates, and more). You can also shop wellness products for yourself or for a gift, and indulge in a guided meditation class or a special wellness treatment.

The HUNTR has visited Paus on several occasions, most recently to try a wellness treatment with the expert practitioner Maria. We booked in for the ‘Detox & Balance’, which encompasses non-painful Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage, offering a deep clean for the body, natural toning, and an overall feeling of relaxation and wellbeing. It was a magical experience – and Maria really takes a holistic approach. We loved seeing the crystal pendulum change from unbalanced pre-treatment, to totally balanced, post.

In the summer of 2022 Paus also debuted is full food offering – featuring delicious options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between.

The HUNTR visited to indulge in a late, leisurely breakfast (breakfast is served all day here) and tried and loved the Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes (54AED), with maple syrup, fried banana and fresh berries (a vegan option is also available), the Sweet Chilli Shakshuka (54AED) a delicious, saucy creation that you will love, and The Fry Up (68AED), with bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and sourdough toast and last but not least, Umma’s Chai French Toast (56AED) a warm-spiced caramelised brioche, which tastes like nostalgic, comforting chai.
