Pickl Burger Dubai: A must-visit homegrown burger joint in JLT

Say hello to Pickl Burger Dubai – a must-visit homegrown burger joint in JLT…

Located on the ground floor of the One Tower in Dubai’s JLT, Pickl is the brainchild of burger enthusiasts Stephen Flawith and Nabil Al Rantisi. The industrial-inspired, super-cool burger joint first opened its doors in April 2019 and has built up quite a fanbase already. Celebrated for its cheat-day-worthy burgers, the team at Pickl pride themselves on sourcing the highest quality, hormone and antibiotic-free beef (which they ship in from the USA) and chicken and using delicious, juice and sauce-soaking, soft potato buns. There are also a range of loaded fries and chicken tenders to choose from.

The name Pickl is a nod to the assortment of speciality pickles on offer and you can choose from dill, onion and jalapeño pickles to top your favourite burger. Vegetarians and plant-based diet followers will be happy to learn that Pickl also offer the revolutionary Beyond Meat burger creation (which features dairy cheese and sauce so isn’t vegan-friendly unless you omit them). Bread-dodgers can opt for the lettuce wrap over a bun and sweet tooth’s can try the ice cream burger if they have the room…

The Huntr has visited Pickl twice, once during a weekend lunch period (when it was packed out) and once (pictured here) during a quieter 4.30pm sitting before the dinner rush. The free Wifi on offer and plethora of seating options make this a great casual spot to get some work done and grab a late lunch, and the family-friendly vibes mean you can also bring the whole crew for a casual weeknight dinner.

Alcohol-free, the drinks menu offers shakes and soft drinks. The Huntr tried and enjoyed two milkshakes – the strawberry (20AED) and the salted caramel (20AED). Food-wise, you can’t really beat the Chicken Sando (35AED), which is juicy and tasty and worth every calorie (you can choose from 3 different spice levels). And we also enjoyed the Bacon Double Cheeseburger (50AED) and Chicken Caesar Sando (35AED). From the sides, we ordered the delicious Messy Fries (25AED), which are loaded with bacon, dill pickles, parsley, and secret sauce, and the Chicken Tenders (which come in two different sizes and feature 3 different spice levels). Unfortunately we couldn’t find space to sample the delicious-sounding Ice Cream Burger, but that is precisely why we are planning to go back very soon…

Insider tips: Open daily from 11am. Closes at 1am Saturday-Wednesday and 2am on Thursdays and Fridays. 1 hour free parking available and then its 10AED per hour thereafter. Self-service style, grab a menu, choose what you want and then go and order and pay at the counter.
