Located within The Hundred Wellness Centre, The 100 Cafe Dubai is a homegrown concept championing plant-based food and speciality coffee in an inspiring and rejuvenating setting. Join The Huntr as we share our recent experience…
On the ground floor of a beautiful, light-filled villa in Jumeirah 1 you will find The 100 Cafe. Part of a 360-degree wellness concept spearheaded by Asma Hilal-Lootah, The 100 Cafe features one, super-long, communal wooden table, but you can also opt to take a pew at one of the various cosy corners dotted around the centre. There’s also an expansive and peaceful garden offering outside seating.
The menu changes daily and features a vegan-heavy offering of meals for breakfast, lunch and light bites. Some items are organic and gluten-free, and all of the dishes are sugar-free and wholesome. When The Huntr visited the specials included a sandwich, a salad, four breakfast bowls and pancakes. From the breakfast specials we opted for the Blue Moon Oats (24AED), which are soaked overnight in blue spirulina (which gives them their blue hue) and topped with berries plus the Gluten-Free Pancakes (45AED), which are moist and fluffy and come with berries and organic maple syrup, as well as the Chia Pudding (34AED) with rose water, pink pataya powder and berries – delicious and nourishing. We also sampled the lunch special – a Homemade Vegan Cheese Alfalfa Sandwich (44AED), which was seriously good and was filled with crunchy veggies and a tangy vegan dijon mayonnaise.
Drinks-wise there are a variety of smoothies, juices and kefirs available alongside teas and speciality coffee. We tried the Little Bean (28AED) – a rich and creamy coconut mylk shake with Madagascan vanilla beans and the Jumeirah Jane (32AED) – a fruity mix of mango, ginger, kale, strawberry, coconut water and lucuma powder. Plus a Flat White (24AED), which is powered by Dubai-based roastery Gold Box and can be crafted using oat milk or cow’s milk.
There are also gluten-free and sugar-free cakes and bakes available, including cookies and cakes.
Insider tips: The 100 Cafe is currently in soft launch phase and will be expanding its menu to include non-vegan dishes and ingredients including eggs, fish and more on a weekly basis.
