Dubai-born speciality coffee concept The Espresso Lab has opened its first location in the UAE capital at the iconic Qasr Al Hosn site. Join your friends at The Huntr as we present a closer look…
The brainchild of speciality coffee lover and Emirati entrepreneur Ibrahim Al Mallouhi, The Espresso Lab won The Huntr’s speciality coffee competition with Brand Dubai (the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office) – #DubaiLovesCoffee – alongside five other noteworthy homegrown speciality coffee concepts in early 2019. What started life inside a wellness centre in Jumeirah and went on to grow to a fully-fledged cafe in the Dubai Design District (d3), is now available in the UAE capital thanks to this beautiful space at the culturally and historically significant Qasr Al Hosn site.
Drinks-wise all of the carefully curated speciality coffees available in the original Dubai outpost are also on the menu here at The Espresso Lab Qasr Al Hosn. The Huntr sampled the perfect Gibraltar (24AED) and Espresso with 5oz of milk (24AED). Food-wise the options are limited, there are croissants available in the morning, which usually sell-out by noon and a few desserts in the afternoon. The Huntr tried the chocolate brownie (33AED).
The free wifi, minimal interiors and calming views of the Qasr Al Hosn water feature make this the ideal spot to host a catch-up with friends, get some work done, study or read a book.
Insider tips: Free Wifi available. Use the Qasr Al Hosn ‘North’ parking to be closest to The Espresso Lab. Check out Mirzam Chocolate next door and if you have little ones, the Children’s Library is a must-visit and a short 5-minute walk away. Open daily from 7.30am until 10pm.
