Meet The Farm Al Barari, a gorgeous green oasis and one of the city’s most alluring hidden gems…
Founded in 2012, The Farm is overflowing with nature and serenity. Greenery is literally bursting out of every corner in the shape of beautiful old trees, bushes, plants and flowers, and a pretty little stream of water runs through the back. The furnishings complement the earthly surroundings and feature carved solid wood tables, a white and sandy colour palette and a striking sculpture (sourced from Thailand), also carved in wood. There are ample seating options for small and large groups, including indoor, AC-friendly corners and tables outside to enjoy the blissful Dubai winter in what is quite possibly the most picturesque and tranquil setting in the whole of the city.
Open daily from 7:30 am until 10 pm, The Farm serves a variety of hearty and healthy dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu for the most important of meal of the day (served from 07:30 am until 11:30 am daily) includes an array of options to please vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters, and lunch and dinner plates (available from 12noon onwards) feature wholesome salads, sandwiches and heartier hot main meals, including pizza, pasta, poultry, seafood, meat and Thai, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Indian, and Asian-inspired creations. There is also a kid’s menu.
The Huntr visited The Farm for a midweek breakfast. We opted for the Eggs Florentine (50AED), which are charmingly served inside a cast iron frying pan and comprise perfectly-poached eggs according to your preference, nestled on a bed of smoked salmon, sautéed spinach and toasted English muffins, drizzled in homemade hollandaise sauce. To wash it all down we went with the Green Paradise (35AED) juice, which is made with a nourishing mix of green apple, lemon, kale, ginger and cucumber.
The only thing that wasn’t perfect about the experience was the coffee. It’s by no means bad coffee, but unfortunately it does not match up to the speciality coffee standards of many other gems in the city.
