Twiggy by La Cantine: A slice of southern France at the Dubai Creek

From the team behind La Cantine du Faubourg, Ninive, and Lana Lusa comes Twiggy by La Cantine in partnership with the Park Hyatt – a slick new beach club, bar and restaurant at the Park Hyatt Lagoon…

One foot inside Twiggy by La Cantine and you will feel as if you’ve landed in the South of France. Fancy decor, chilled vibes, beautiful views, and people, this Dubai Creek hotspot is filled with natural materials and light. Complete with a 100-metre infinity pool and man-made white sand beach, there is also a licensed bar and a chic restaurant.

The beach club offers a variety of ‘luxuriating by the pool’ arrangements, including luxurious private cabanas. There is also table service available across all of the sunbeds and shower room and toilet facilities. Whilst the views beyond the infinity pool offer an unrivaled snapshot of Dubai’s iconic skyline.

At the restaurant, the menu is inspired by the French and Mediterranean flavours with various ‘international’ influences. Think sharing plates and decadent sushi, big, fresh salads, raw seafood and sizzling meat and fish dishes.

After a few hours pool-side, The HUNTR headed to the Twiggy restaurant to enjoy a leisurely weekend lunch. We started with the light and moreish King Crab Avocado (154AED) and the glossy and gorgeous Sliced Yellowfin Tuna with Sesame, Sweet Onion Vinaigrette (105AED). The latter was especially good. We also couldn’t get enough of the Fried Calamari, Scallions, Spicy Mayonnaise (95AED), and the Tempura Shrimp Roll (85AED) was good.

For the main event, we couldn’t resist ordering the Australian Lamb Chops (205AED), which were perfectly cooked and served with a choice of flavourful sauces (tomato and coriander salsa, mustard honey aioli, or chili jam). Plus the vegetarian-friendly Braised Leeks and Black Truffle Risotto with Sliced Mushrooms (135AED) – creamy, cheesy, and a strong, rich truffle flavour, what’s not to love? Last but not least, the Lobster Cannelloni (198AED) features pasta tubes filled with sweet lobster and a creamy, tomato cheesy sauce. Divine.

To end a rather epic feed on a sweet note we shared two desserts – the picture-perfect Pineapple Carpaccio served with pomegranate and passion fruit and the creamy and fruity Crème brûlée with berry compote. Both were faultless.

Complete with impressive views, great service, delicious food, and a fully-licensed bar, Twiggy is the ideal spot to while away a day in the sun, enjoy a long lunch with family and friends, impress clients, head for golden hour cocktails, or celebrate a special occasion like a birthday.

Insider tips: The beach club is open daily from 9 am until sunset. You can book the beds between 9 am and 11 am, after that they are first come, first served. The restaurant is open from 12noon until 1 am – advance bookings are advisable.
