Hailing from the Fashion District in Downtown Toronto, Weslodge Saloon Dubai serves up modern Canadian cuisine with a side of cool and an epic view of Dubai’s pretty skyline.
The saloon vibes are immediately felt. Think faux vintage framed pictures, wall-mounted taxidermy, plush sofas and old-school dinner candlesticks flickering on the tables.
Part (licensed) bar, part restaurant, Weslodge Saloon is the ideal place to visit for a dinner that turns into a party (depending on which night you visit), post-brunch drinks, a lively client dinner or during its quieter times – a romantic dinner or drinks date with someone special. The daily happy hour runs from 17:30 until 19:30 and Wednesday is ladies night (read: busy and buzzy), which includes two complimentary drinks and a 50% discount on main courses, plus an additional two drinks for every lady dining. Meanwhile, the gentleman’s evening offers two complimentary drinks and 50% off main courses on Tuesdays.
The Huntr visited for a relaxing Saturday night supper. We started with the Seabass Ceviche (72AED), a mouthwatering mix of watermelon, agua de chile, cilantro, shiso, and tortilla and the creamy Burrata and Tomatoes (95AED), which comes with warm pesto, aged balsamic, and fresh, warm grilled bread. For the main event, we opted for the Whole Seabass (160AED), which was expertly cooked and the succulent Lamb Chops (175AED). For sides, we selected the Grilled Broccolini (40AED) with chilli, lemon, and garlic and the Roasted Cauliflower (45AED) with ajo blanco, brown butter vinaigrette, and curry leaf.
To end a delightful meal on a sweet note, we shared the Maple Brûlée (50AED) and the Double Down (60AED) – skillet baked hazelnut brownie, chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream.
