Kon’nichiwa! If you haven’t already heard of Yakitate Dubai, then prepare to fall in love.

Situated in the Al Ghurair Centre Extension in Al Rigga, Yakitate is a Japanese boutique, bakery and cafe serving up an eye-popping array of tempting treats. Including an assortment of exotic-sounding pastries and buns, the must-try rice and ramen burgers and some pretty amazing beverages – we loved the matcha drinks and Japanese-style syphon coffee. Divine.

The service at Yakitate Dubai is also pretty top notch. The decor and set-up, however, could definitely be improved, it’s not exactly Pinterest heaven – but we didn’t head to Yakitate to stare at furniture, we went for the eats!

We recommend heading to Yakitate for lunch, ordering a ramen or sushi burger (good luck deciding which!) and washing it all down with matcha iced tea. And if you have a sweet tooth – the Hello Kitty buns are almost too good to eat… Almost.

Insider tip: Try the steal that is ‘The sushi burger set lunch’ – AED38 for the sushi burger of your choice and either a milk tea or an iced tea drink. Or ‘The ramen burger set lunch menu’ – AED36 for the ramen burger of your choice, one side dish and either a milk tea or an iced tea drink. Bargain.
