Situated in the slick Wasl 51 mall in Jumeirah 1, Yava is as pretty as they come. We loved the rugs, mismatched chairs, and cosy corners. There’s also an outdoor space with tables, umbrellas, and chairs and ample seating arrangements for small and large groups inside and outside.

Alcohol-free, Yava offers a variety of coffees, teas, and special drinks, soft drinks, smoothies, and juices. The menu features breakfast (served from 8 am until 1 pm), main courses, sides, and desserts. All of the dishes are inspired by the different flavours and ingredients of 21 Mediterranean countries. There is really something for (almost) everyone here…

We whet our appetites with complimentary bread, orange-flavoured butter, and harissa and zaatar oils before launching into the best-selling YAVA’s Crispy Prawns (45AED). Divine. For the mains, we opted to try the Olive Chicken Tajine (78AED), which was rich, comforting, and flavourful and, the Mushroom Beef Tenderloin (150AED), which also hit the mark.

For dessert, we shared the Nutty Ring (50AED) – which is crafted with pistachios, nuts, and Nutella and served with coconut ice cream. All washed down with a Flat White (25AED) powered by the Cypher Urban Roastery and a refreshing Pomegranate mocktail.

This is a great spot for a casual catch-up, a nice long/late breakfast, a quick cup of coffee, or a long leisurely lunch/dinner. Big thumbs up from us. Race you there…
